Why

Nobody currently knows how far the hosted service is from being properly
launched, and everything else in the marketing programme is scheduled against
that answer.

docs/launch-readiness.md Gates A, B and C are unticked but carry a header
saying they have "not been re-checked against the code since they were written,
and are known to understate what exists". Meanwhile README.md:29 says the
hosted service is live while Gate A says the sync server runs on no host.
Both cannot be true.

This is the blocker for every public announcement, and it is an hour of reading
rather than a project.

What to do

Reconcile README.md:29 against Gate A. Assert through something that can
actually observe the thing — the running host, not the document.
Re-check Gates A, B and C against the code and the fleet, and tick or correct
each line.
Confirm one real payment completes end to end. Creem has been live with
testMode: false since 18 September 2026, with a live webhook registered, but
no live purchase has ever been made. Two test-mode purchases exist; the
first exposed twelve faults, since fixed.
Gate E: docs/terms.md and docs/privacy.md are still marked DRAFT and the
liability section reads "Left for review."

Why it gates the marketing

The primary market is security professionals. DRAFT legal pages and an unproven
payment path are the first two things they check, and the Obsidian listing
currently also carries "This plugin has not been manually reviewed by Obsidian
staff." You get one first impression per channel.

Also worth resolving while in here

docker pull nectenda/nectenda is advertised in the README and the image
exists in no registry.
docs/plan-master.md:128 still says "No real users"; :339 still says
"Nothing has been published yet" — the plugin shipped 18 September 2026 and the
listing was confirmed live on 22 September.
